Stopped in here for happy hour - it's a chill bar and
had good live music playing on the Friday afternoon I was
there. Great happy hour specials ($4 Long Island Iced Tea?
Yes please.) Our bartender didn't scrimp on the pour, and
the sliders and fries (from the bar menu which was 50% off
during happy hour) were the perfect appetizer to hold us
over for a late dinner.

My dad turned 50 over the weekend, and to celebrate my mom
through him a huge surprise party. She landed on 1515 for
the location of this huge shindig because it would be able
to fit the 150 plus guests invited and because of the layout.
1515 is of course a restaurant, with a James Beard quality
chef I might add, and it doubles as a bar...
Gene Tang, the owner, is honestly one of the nicest men I
have ever met. He was so accommodating and made sure that
the surprise party went off without a hitch. First of all,
my mom is a bit of a worry wart and flooded Gene's email with
questions daily. He was so kind and made sure that every
question and concern my mother had was answered and/or taken
care of. He stored the birthday cake and all of the party
decorations and had someone help me set up while my parents
were enjoying their dinner upstairs in the dining room.
Gene basically made sure we had anything and everything that
we needed for this party to go off without a hitch.
Now on to the bar staff... AMAZING. Katie, Matt, and Matt
(this is no typo, there were two Matts) were just awesome.
Anyone who knows my dad's coworkers knows that they are big
partiers. Seriously I think they are cooler than I am
sometimes, and I'm 24. They were able to serve the 100 plus
guests efficiently and quickly, doling out shots of Absinthe,
Jager, Stranahan's and tequilla. One of the Matts even made
me some sort of Grey Goose mixed shot at the very end of the
night (I liked it more than he did). My dad's guests and I
closed the bar down... literally we left when the bartenders
did. Matt number 2 was the extremely kind man who helped me
set up. He was so sweet and like Gene, made sure everything
went off without a hitch. All in all, I'll probably the 1515
bar to chat it up with Katie, Matt, and Matt (plus Katie has
to see the awesome picture that my inebriated mother took of
her).
